五分律:若比丘,非親裡居士、居士婦共議當以如是衣直作衣,與某甲比丘。是比丘先不自恣請,便往問居士、居士婦言:「汝為我以如是衣直作衣不?」答言:「如是。」,便言:「善哉,居士、居士婦,可作如是衣與我」。為好故,尼薩耆波夜提。
僧祇律:若居士、居士婦為比丘辦衣價言:「我辦如是衣價,買如是衣與某甲比丘。」是比丘先不請,為好故,便往勸言:「善哉,居士,如是衣價,買如是色衣與我」。若得衣,尼薩耆波夜提。
四分律:若比丘,居士、居士婦為比丘辦衣價,買如是衣與某甲比丘。是比丘先不受自恣請,到居士家作如是說:「善哉,居士,為我買如是如是衣與我」。為好故,尼薩耆波逸提。
十誦律:若比丘,非親裡居士、若居士婦為辦衣價,念言:「我如是如是衣價,買如是如是衣,與某甲比丘。」是比丘先不自恣,為好衣故,少作因緣,便到非親裡居士、若居士婦所,作如是言:「汝等,善哉,辦如是如是衣價,買如是如是衣與我」。為好故,若得是衣,尼薩耆波夜提。
根有律:若複苾芻,有非親戚居士、居士婦共辦衣價,當買如是清淨衣與某甲苾芻,及時應用。此苾芻先不受請,因他告知,便詣彼家作如是語:「善哉,仁者,為我所辦衣價,可買如是清淨衣,及時與我」。為好故,若得衣者,泥薩祇波逸底迦。

Horner: In case various robe-funds come to be laid by
for a monk by two men householders or by (two)women
householders who are not relations (of his), thinking:
‘We will present the monk so and so with robes, having
got various robes in exchange for the various
robe-funds.’ Then if that monk, out of desire for
something fine, approaching before being invited, should
put forward a consideration with regard to a robe,
saying: ‘Indeed it would be well; do let the venerable
ones, having got a robe like this or like that in
exchange for the various robe-funds, present it to me,
the two together with one,’ there is an offence of
expiation involving forfeiture.
