五分律:若非親裡居士、居士婦共議:「我當各以如是衣直作衣,與某甲比丘。」是比丘先不受自恣請,便往問居士、居士婦言:「汝各為我以如是衣直作衣不?」答言:「如是。」便言:「善哉,居士、居士婦,可合作一衣與我。」為好故,尼薩耆波逸提。
僧祇律:若比丘,居士、居士婦各辦如是衣價言:「我等辦如是衣價,買如是衣與某甲比丘。」是比丘先不請,為好故,便往勸言:「善哉,居士,各辦如是衣價,共作一如是色衣與我。」若得衣,尼薩耆波夜提。
四分律:若比丘,二居士、居士婦與比丘辦衣價,持如是衣,買如是衣與某甲比丘。是比丘先不受居士自恣請,到二居士家作如是言:「善哉,居士,辦如是如是衣價,與我共作一衣」。為好故,若得衣者,尼薩耆波逸提。
十誦律:若比丘,非親裡居士、若居士婦各各辦衣價,念言:「我如是如是衣價,買如是如是衣,與某甲比丘。」是比丘先不自恣請,為好衣故,少作因緣,便到非親裡居士、若居士婦所,作如是言:「汝等,善哉,辦如是如是衣價,買合作一衣與我」。為好故,若得是衣,尼薩耆波夜提。
根有律:若複苾芻,有非親戚居士、居士婦各辦衣價,當買如是清淨衣與某甲苾芻,此苾芻先不受請,因他告知,便詣彼家,作如是語:「善哉,仁者,為我所辦衣價,可共買如是清淨衣,及時與我」。為好故,若得衣者,泥薩祇波逸底迦。

Horner: In case a robe-fund comes to be laid by for a
monk by a man or a woman householder who is not a
relation (of his), thinking: ‘I will present the monk so
and so with a robe, having got the robe in exchange for
this robe-fund’—then if that monk, out of desire for
something fine, approaching before being invited, should
put forward a consideration with regard to a robe,
saying: ‘Indeed it would be well; do let the venerable
one, having got a robe like this or like that in
exchange for this robe-fund, present it to me, ‘ there
is an offence of expiation involving forfeiture.
